we receive zero backing through crowd funding campaigns or grants or any institutional backing due to the lack of accessibility these funding processes can be for a woman of color. we have experimented with various ways to funding and have found a balance of all our funding models to keep the project afloat. Below is our funding breakdown. if you would like to donate to us, it would be highly appreciated. the more funding we get, the more unique work we can produce with underrepresented artists. click the link below.
OUR PROJECT HAS PLANNED OVER 40 EVENTS INDEPENDENTLY OR IN COLLABORATION WITH ANOTHER GROUP AND/OR ARTIST. OUR EVENTS VARY DEPENDING ON SPACE AND RESOURCES AND HAVE DONE EVENTS IN PHILADELPHIA AND CHICAGO AS WELL. WE HAVE PRODUCED ART SHOWS, WORKSHOPS, POP UPS, DANCE PARTIES AS WELL AS OUR INFAMOUS #BETTYZINEFEST, WHICH WILL BE RETURNING IN 2019. WE WERE ORIGINALLY GETTING MOST OF OUR FUNDING FOR OUR ZINE THROUGH EVENTS, BUT THE LACK OF SPACES IN NYC AND BEYOND due to rampant gentrification, it WAS STARTING TO BECOME IMPOSSIBLE OR FISCALLY SMART. SO WE STARTED PRODUCING MULTIPLES OF SOME OF THE WORK WE PRODUCE.
